In the near future, the SNSB seeks to invest more time and resources to qualify partner organisations from the Global South in free online courses via Zoom in English (and eventually in other languages). Equipped with grants by the Federal Ministry for Ecomonic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the SNSB funds German NGOs that have established a partnership with a partner in the Global South (NGO, CBO, etc.). Within the logics of the BMZ-funding tool „smallscale-project grant (EZ Kleinprojektefonds)“, the Northern partner and the Southern partner share responsibilities: While only German NGOs are allowed to apply for BMZ grants (German taxpayer’s money), partners in the Global South receive these grants and are responsible for decision-making, spending, implementation and providing the proof of use (Verwendungsnachweis) after the end of the project term. On the one hand, this division of labour requires German NGOs to be informed about funding guidelines, writing applications and fostering partnerships. On the other hand, partners from the Global South need to be aware of compliance, rules and regulations concerning deadlines, spending, receipts, voucher lists, transfer of grants, call for funds, possible sanctions, proof of payment, binding period, etc..
